PRIX LUX : MUSTANG 10.10

Over the past ten years, the European Parliament’s LUX FILM PRIZE has been a pioneering player in bringing Europe’s cinematic soul closer to Europeans. Subtitled into the EU’s 24 official languages, remarkable European films have travelled across the EU’s 28 Member States to enlighten European cinema lovers.

In 2016 and beyond, the LUX FILM PRIZE will continue to explore new horizons.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the LUX Prize, on the 10th October 2016, a series of events will be organized with the participation of MEPs, key figures of European cinema environment, directors of films honoured by the LUX Prize, journalists and European cinephiles. Several activities are foreseen to mark this special day.

The series of events on that day  would culminate with a unique event – a simultaneous screening of Mustang by Deniz Gamze Erguven in theatres of the Europa Cinemas network in the 28 European countries followed by a streamed Q&A and a Twitter wall. In that way the audiences from across Europe would be able to interact directly with the film director making out of it a truly symbolic European debate. This event will illustrate the spirit of LUX Film Days: to create an ephemeral European public sphere by screening the same film, at the same moment in different Member States.
