FR : Tel un film de science-fiction, “He” examine le parcours surréel de mannequins de vitrine, de leur conception dans une usine à un usage final possible. Entre les deux, c’est une société iranienne bigarrée qui est sondée, dévoilant par intermittence les spectres refoulés d’une imagerie érotique. À l’aide d’un dispositif cinématographique simple et ingénieux, Sam Kalantari parvient à immiscer l’étrange dans le réel.

EN : Like a science fiction film, “He” examines the surreal journey of window mannequins, from their conception in a factory to their possible end use. In between, a colourful Iranian society appears, intermittently revealing the repressed spectra of erotic imagery. With the help of a simple and ingenious cinematographic device, Sam Kalantari manages to bring strangeness into reality.

 

FR : Un autre regard sur le handicap. Le constat des médecins est pessimiste. “C’est un cas désespéré, cet enfant n’a aucun potentiel de développement mental”. Et pourtant, cet enfant rejeté par la médecine fait des progrès intellectuels et artistiques inattendus grâce à une éducation alternative nourrie par l’amour et la persévérance de son père.

EN : Another look at disability. The doctors’ observations are pessimistic. “This is a desperate case, this child has no potential for mental development.” And yet, this child rejected by medicine makes unexpected intellectual and artistic progress thanks to an alternative education nourished by his father’s love and perseverance.
