NL : Belfast, 1941. Het is oorlog, de blitzkrieg… De stad wordt gebombardeerd en de bewoners schuilen elke dag voor de Nazis. Dit is de hel. Tom zijn moeder heeft geen tijd voor hem: ze is verpleegster, en verzorgt de hele dag gewonden. Zijn vader was vroeger zoo-uitbater, maar is ondertussen naar het front gestuurd. Maar jonge Tom trekt er op uit. Zo komt hij uiteindelijk in de oude zoo, en vindt er Buster, een baby olifant. Buster moet gered worden van de bommen. Samen met zijn vrienden Jane, Pete en Mickey (en de buurvrouw!) bedenkt Tom een gevaarlijk plan om Buster te bevrijden… Deze familiefilm is gebaseerd op waargebeurde feiten: tijdens de aanvallen van de Duitsers stierven er niet enkel burgers, maar ook tientallen dieren in de zoo. De film had zijn wereldpremière op het Chicago International Film Festival.
FR : Belfast, 1941. Les Allemands lancent leur blitzkrieg. La ville est bombardée en permanence, et les habitants doivent se terrer, c’est l’enfer. La mère de Tom est infirmière, et elle n’a pas de temps pour lui. Son père était directeur de zoo, mais il a été envoyé au front. Tom part en ville. Il retourne au zoo, et y trouve Buster, un bébé éléphant. Il est encore en vie, les autres animaux sont morts… Il faut sauver Buster! Avec l’aide de ses amis Jane, Pete et Mickey (et de la voisine), Tom tentera un plan dangereux pour sauver Buster… ce film de famille est basé sur des faits historiques : durant le bombardement de Belfast, des dizaines d’animaux exotiques y ont laissé la vie. Le film a connu sa première mondiale au Festival international du Film de Chicago.

Tom’s mom has no time for him; she’s a nurse and has to help wounded every day. His dad used to be a Zoo manager, but has been sent to fight at the frontline today. So Tom heads out into the city. He gets to the old zoo, destroyed by the bombs as well… but he finds Buster, a baby elephant, alive and well. He has got to be saved to survive. Together with his friends Jane, Pete and Mickey (and the lady next door!), Tom comes up with a dangerous plan to free Buster… This family film is based on real facts: during the air raids of Belfast, not only humans died but also dozens of animals trapped in the zoo. The movie had its world premiere at the Chicago International Film Festival.
