“Ibn al Am online” is a kind of “inside the revolution” portrait of Syrian leftist Riad al Turk in 2012. This film is a sequel to “Ibn al Am”, made in 2001, which told the story of Riad al Turk and the prison where he spent 18 years of his life under the regime of Hafez Assad. Riad al Turk spent most of his life fighting for freedom and democracy in Syria. With the outbreak of the Syrian revolution in 2011 and the realisation of his dream drawing closer, this octogenarian realised that the revolution was first and foremost the work of young people, and that the torch must be passed on to them. In this sense, the film is a dialogue with the generation of fathers and a reconciliation with them, whereas the first film was a struggle and a settling of scores with that same generation.
