Every summer since 2012, we’ve been offering our festival in partnership with the city of Brussels. This popular festival is growing, having gone from a few days of outdoor screenings on Place de la Monnaie in 2012, to over 17 screenings on the Brussels les Bains site in 2014. The concept itself has not changed. We leave our authors behind for a summer, and choose a film city in which we take up residence as film buffs.

In 2013, the festival was focused on discovering Texas. This year, L’heure d’été continues its world tour with a visit to Italy and the city of Rome. Audiences will be able to discover a rich, varied and inter-generational Italian cinema, ranging from Fellini and Dino Risi to established and pioneering genres such as Mario Bava’s Giallo. The festival also embraces its quirkiness by programming more unexpected films, such as Bruce Lee’s The Fury of the Dragon and Billy Wilder’s Avanti!

The programme will be rounded off by an exceptional exhibition by Alain Fleischer, who has been photographing and filming Rome for over thirty years.
