Synopsis

West Bank, 1988. Palestinian teenager Noor finds himself swept up in a violent protest against the Israeli soldiers. His mother, Hanan, seizes this moment as an opportunity to take him on a journey through their uprooted family history. Since 1948, their ancestors have been violently displaced from their homes. Despite these struggles, they continue to tirelessly fight for a dignified life. The reality of intergenerational powerlessness is explored by the Palestinian-American Cherien Dabis. In ‘All that's left of you’ she frames the story of an ordinary family within the history of Palestine. The result is an intimate story about resilience, trauma, and the search for a new home. The film was chosen as Jordan's official entry for the Academy Awards.
