Ukraine on Film marks its 10th edition in Brussels
From 6 to 10 May, the 10th edition of Ukraine on Film will take place at Cinema Galeries in Brussels. Established in 2016 in response to Russia’s war against Ukraine, the festival has spent a decade bringing Ukrainian cinema to audiences in the heart of the European Union, offering insight into the country’s culture, society, and contemporary realities.
Marking its tenth anniversary, this year’s edition reflects both the growing international recognition of Ukrainian cinema and its continued urgency in wartime. The programme presents a selection of recent documentary and fiction films by leading Ukrainian filmmakers, including works showcased at major international festivals.
The festival is organised by Arthouse Traffic, the Association of Ukrainians in Belgium, and the Ukrainian State Film Agency, with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Belgium, the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union, and Cinema Galeries.
This year’s programme brings together five films exploring different dimensions of the Ukrainian experience:
