Synopsis

In a remote village in New Mexico, the life of gym manager Lou (Kristen Stewart) is completely turned upside down when bodybuilder Jackie shows up at her gym. Jackie, who works at the shooting range of Lou's criminal father (Ed Harris), puts everything into training for the most important bodybuilding competition in Las Vegas, something Lou is only too happy to help her with. However, the fledgling but intense love affair takes an unexpected turn when Lou's sister is brutally abused and hospitalised. Soon everything spirals violently out of control and Lou has to face not only her father's dark past, but also her own.

Iris Lafon is a curator and art historian specialising in the moving image. Her research, tinged with media archaeology, explores the material history of science fiction and queer fandoms*.
Valérie Leclercq is a musician and historian with a passion for cinema history and queer history.
Together, they have been programming ‘Our Story’ events at CINEMATEK since 2021, dedicated to the history of LGBTQIA+ cinema.
