EN: Karla Crnčević retrieves the VHS tapes filmed by her father on the day he returned to his village in Croatia at the end of the war. “My father used a camera just once in his lifetime. He asked me to digitise the material he filmed. I was wondering what he remembers. Created from an impulse to rethink and rewatch personal archive footage, the film explores memory and its relation to documentation and non-institutional archive practices.”

EN: The forest begins once again where the river is constantly born and murmurs in a forgotten tongue. The town folks work the dry soil to bring to the surface the trees that once inhabited Ulla. They recall the landscape they never got to see. Who will inhabit the forest when it starts to be? Can a forest be planted? Will someone name it? Where does a town begin?

The En ville ! film festival returns at the end of January for its 7th edition, in Brussels cinemas. More specifically: at the Galeries cinema from January 27 to January 31, 2026.
