Introducing
‘From generation to generation, we carry forward a legacy that is both visible and buried. How can we build ourselves and project ourselves into the future when what came before us remains unknown or erased? Heritage addresses this question by proposing an approach to rediscovering and reclaiming memory in order to honour those who paved the way. This year, the project explores the work of Samba Félix Ndiaye, a sensitive Senegalese film director and documentary maker who is deeply committed to respecting cultures and traditions. His work, which is committed and attentive to human stories, observes African resistance through the prism of memory, identity and transmission’ (Rosine Mbakam – filmmaker, associate professor at Kask).
