Synopsis
In less than 20 years, the new generation of Korean musicians has mastered European classical music, yet removed from their native culture. This music, sometimes considered outdated in the West, is on the contrary seen as modern and fashionable in South Korea. Each concerts in their native country is welcomed with bravos and cheers from an audience of enthusiastic young people. K-Classics Generation looks back on the career of some figures of the so-called "K-Classics Generation", including the two recent winners of the Queen Elisabeth Competition: soprano Sumi Hwang and violinist Lim Ji young.
