The Adamant is a one-of-a-kind Day Center: it’s a floating building. Built on the River Seine, in the heart of Paris, it welcomes adults suffering from mental health disorders, offering them a therapeutic environment that provides structure in time and space, helping them reconnect with the world and regain a sense of momentum. The team running it is among those who strive, as best they can, to resist the deterioration and dehumanization of psychiatry. This film invites us aboard to meet the patients and caregivers who, day after day, shape its unique daily life.

Study Morning organized by Télé-Accueil Bruxelles around the film “On the Adamant” (Golden Bear in Berlin, 2023) by Nicolas Philibert: Screening – Conference – Reflections – Discussions.
Many institutions are faced with people experiencing psychiatric difficulties who are reluctant to accept the support offered. Télé-Accueil wished to address these issues during this study morning.

Moored on the Seine, in the heart of Paris, it welcomes adults suffering from psychological disorders, offering them a therapeutic environment that provides structure in both time and space, helps them reconnect with the world, and regain some momentum.

At 12:00 p.m., round table discussion moderated by Mathieu Bietlot (philosopher and political scientist):
“How can we listen to people who resist being welcomed?”

- Linda de Zitter (psychologist and psychoanalyst working at the Adamant in Paris)
- Etienne Oldenhove (psychiatrist and former director of “Wolvendael” in Brussels)
