Synopsis
What Makes Us Boys is an intimate coming-of-age portrait about growing up in today's digital world. Teenager Daan and his younger brother Sam both struggle: Daan with the connective tissue disease EDS and Sam with being born in a female body. When Daan starts high school, he shares videos on social media to cope with the loneliness that comes with his disease. At the same time the relationship with his brother changes as he finds himself increasingly alone in a world Sam isn’t part of.
