Apichatpong Weerasethakul is a Thai independent film director, screenwriter, and film producer.
CINEMA GALERIES together with KUNSTENFESTIVALDESARTS propose an exceptional program dedicated to the artist starting from 12 April 2016. It will present a retrospective of his films, an exhibition called “Apichatpong, Memorandum” and an unprecedented performance named “Fever Room”.
Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s work regularly go beyond cinema and has been installed in major worldwide museums. He mixes in his videos a wide range of references, from Buddhist to popular culture. The filmmaker works on memory as a fluid material, haunted by desire as well as political issues.
It is this whole course that will be traced in Brussels, from his first audiovisual works to his last performance presented for the first time on our continent.
