    The 18th edition of the Brussels International Women’s Film Festival will take place from October 13 to 21, 2026, at UGC De Brouckère, L’Aventure, Les Galeries, and CINEMATEK, featuring a selection of films by female directors from around the world

    The festival will open with Gessica Généus’s “Marie Madeleine” during an evening co-organized with FIFF Namur. The closing night will feature the Belgian premiere of Valentina Maurel’s “Ton Animal Maternel.”

    Highlights include: “Ellas en la ciudad” with the Instituto Cervantes, “Le Bambine” with the Italian Cultural Institute, and “Orca” with Art Cantara. A screening of “Les Petites Victoires,” in collaboration with EQLA, will be accessible to blind and visually impaired audiences thanks to audio description.

    The program also places a strong emphasis on international short films and the national competition “Graines de Cinéastes,” which spotlights emerging filmmakers in Belgium.

    From October 19 to 21 at the CINEMATEK, “Traces et Horizons” will honor three leading Latin American female directors: Matilde Landeta, Suzana Amaral, and María Luisa Bemberg.
