Introducing

Through a double perceptive distance with respect to the human figure (distant in the image, close in the sound), Lois Patiño sought to relate the immensity of the natural space with the intimate experience of people. Visually immersing the viewer in the vastness of the landscape of the Costa da Morte with stunning contemplative imagery.

Synopsis

Costa da Morte is a region in the northwest of Galicia, Spain, which was considered as the end of the world during the Roman period. Its dramatic name, ‘Coast of Death’, comes from the numerous shipwrecks that happened along history. We cross this land observing the people who inhabit it, fishermen, gatherers of shellfish, loggers... The wind, the stones, the fire are all characters in the film: through them we approach the mystery of the landscape, understanding it as a unified ensemble with man, his history and legends.
