Synopsis

Sixty-one years after his assassination, Patrice Lumumba returns to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Or, as one of his children puts it, “Congo is coming home to Congo.” Lumumba was assassinated along with two of his closest associates, in the midst of the Cold War and during the wave of African independence. This film chronicles the highly political celebrations surrounding the return of Lumumba’s remains, but above all seeks to explore what remains of Patrice Lumumba, both in the Congo and in Belgium. To this day, his murder and those of Okito and Mpolo remain unpunished
