Mathieu Volpe was raised by his Belgian mother and his Italian father in Bari, in the South of Italy. In 2009 he moved to Belgium in order to study filmmaking. His shorts have been presented in several international festivals such as Locarno, Torino, Dok Leipzig and Fipadoc.

Synopsis

At the dawn of his 25th birthday, Sokuro, the son of Burkinabe immigrants living in Italy, marries Nassira, a young girl from his native village. For him, the marriage is the first step to a future and definitive return to Burkina Faso, but for his new wife, the wedding is the gateway to Europe.
