On the occasion of Winter Hour Tunis, El Kazma’s exhibition has its roots in the previous selections of visual artists from the last editions of the Gabes festival, whose driving force is to celebrate culture off the beaten track. The works gathered at the Cinéma Galeries question the representation of the self, as well as the fantasies and visions projected onto Tunisian creations. Each of them reveals the spirit of places, landscapes and memories, which unfold from surface to surface and confront the spectators with the views of artists who tell a part of their country’s intimacy and history, without it being compartmentalized by the Western prism. Thus, they invite us to contemplate their multiple realities through a poetic and videographic language.
El Kazma is an opportunity to bring these messages to Belgium and to open up new reflections by offering a genuine desire for dialogue and exchange.

From 4 to 21 March, the 2020 edition of the film festival L'HEURE D'HIVER, organised by CINEMA GALERIES, celebrate Tunis and Tunisian cinema. The festival was interrupted by the announcement of the closure of cultural venues from Friday 13 March 2020 following the COVID 19 pandemic.
