For this 2024 edition, SNAP team is proud to invite you to this movie program curated in collaboration with queer.red. From various continents, this movie program brings together various degrees of comprehension of intimate and political sex workers issues: relationships with clients, political involvement, self-care. Under the label queer.red presents! is a Dutch-based group of (former) sex workers, feminists, queer and trans people who organise events on the topic of sex work. Their aim is to destigmatise sex work through nuanced and diverse representations. Their next festival is during 28-30 March 2025. More info: https://queer.red/

Stranger than Fiction is a screening series, programmed by Nour Ouayda, on the ways observational images produce speculative fiction, in times marked by major disruptions and transformations. Taking her own practice as a starting point, she calls on other works that explore a similar gesture across various times and territories. In this Brussels iteration, Stranger than Fiction will include films by Miryam Charles, Reeda Fneiche, Lara Tabet & Nour Ouayda. The screening will be followed by a discussion with Nour Ouayda (programmer and filmmaker of The Secret Garden) and Carine Doumit (co-writer and editor of The Secret Garden).

At the risk of their lives, journalist Ibrahim Nash’at and translator Adel Safi followed the taliban regime from the inside. The result is a chilling documentary about the return to power of the talibans and the oppression of the Afghan people. The screening with be followed by a Q&A will film director Ibrahim Nash’at and award-winning producer Odessa Rae.
